ULT® 100a is a microcontroller-based 1 MHz ultrasound therapy machine with continuous and pulsed output modes, digital display of intensity (W/cm²) and treatment time, and provision for combination therapy. Operating at up to 2.5 W/cm² with two pulsed ratios (1:9 and 2:8 at 100 Hz) and a 99-minute timer, it delivers focused single-frequency ultrasound in a compact 1.5 kg unit. Designed for physiotherapy clinics, hospitals and rehabilitation centres that need a straightforward, lightweight 1 MHz ultrasound machine with combination therapy capability.

ULT® 100a delivers focused 1 MHz ultrasound with continuous/pulsed output, combination therapy provision and digital intensity display in the lightest form factor (1.5 kg) across the HMS ultrasound range.
1 MHz & 3 MHz from Single Transducer
Delivers both 1 MHz (deeper tissue penetration) and 3 MHz (superficial tissue targeting) ultrasound from a single water-resistant transducer. Frequency selection is made directly on the 7-inch touch display. Standard 5 cm² ERA transducer is included; an optional 1 cm² small-area transducer is available for treating confined anatomical areas. A static ultrasound transducer is also available for hands-free applications.
47 Evidence-Based Pre-Programs
Pre-loaded with 47 evidence-based treatment protocols that auto-configure frequency (1/3 MHz), output mode (continuous/pulsed), pulse rate, duty cycle and intensity for specific clinical applications. Reduces manual setup time and standardises treatment parameters across clinical staff. Additionally, 30 re-writable user memory positions allow physiotherapists to save and recall custom parameter combinations.
3 Pulse Rates & 9 Duty Cycle Settings
Offers three selectable pulse rates — 16 Hz, 48 Hz and 100 Hz — with 9 pulsed duty cycle options (10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80% and 90%). This combination provides 27 distinct pulsed output configurations plus continuous mode, giving physiotherapists significantly more control over pulsed ultrasound delivery than single pulse-rate models in the HMS range.
7-Inch Colour Touch Display
The largest display in the HMS ultrasound range — a 7-inch colour touch screen shows all active parameters including frequency, output mode, pulse settings, intensity (0.1–3 W/cm²), timer (1–99 minutes) and contact sensor status. Touch-based navigation provides direct access to protocol selection, manual parameter adjustment and user memory functions.
Contact Control Sensor
A built-in contact control sensor monitors transducer-to-skin contact during treatment. When contact becomes insufficient, the system automatically suspends ultrasound output — resuming when proper contact is restored. A contact sensor indicator on the transducer itself provides visual feedback of contact status. This prevents ultrasound output into air and ensures energy delivery only when the transducer is properly coupled to the treatment area.
1.7 kg Clinical Build with Collimated Beam
Delivers a collimated ultrasound beam with a beam non-uniformity ratio of 5:1 (max). Housed in a compact unit measuring 28 × 22 × 9 cm and weighing 1.7 kg. Energy-efficient design with universal mains input (100–240V, 50/60 Hz). Certified to IEC 60601-1 (Class I, Type BF). Also designed for veterinary care. Manufactured by HMS Medical Systems.
